YOMP
The Yomp was first run in 1983 and comes from the Forces name for a long march over open terrain. This hugely popular local event is entirely volunteer led and new for this year there are six routes over the weekend with a distance for everyone.
The Yomp Mountain challenge is a three-day event celebrating all things running, walking and outdoors. This volunteer run event is entering it’s fortieth year and with the help of some great sponsors is offering more events than ever before. The Yomp raises money for good causes and to date well over £100,000 has been donated to a variety of good causes.
The Yomp has its own distinct character and is a local legend in the event calendar. It does have its roads and tracks, but they are not the main element, which is the open, exposed fell. Challenge Yourself.....
